The Mi A2 is here in Malaysia, continuing the Android ONE series allowing users to enjoy pure Android experience with super affordable prices. So here are some photos from my first look of the latest device by Xiaomi.
Before we continue, let’s have a look at the specs:
Display: 5.99″ screen 18:9 ratio with 2160×1080 FHD+ resolution
Camera: [Back] 12MP + 20MP dual camera with ƒ/1.75 aperture [Front] 20MP front camera with AI-powered beautification
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 660
Battery: 3,010 mAH
Memory: 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM / 6 GB RAM + 128GB ROM
So how’s the Mi A2? Is it worth?
Well From my brief hands-on session, the device felt really solid and nice to hold. It actually feels very much like the Mi A1. The screen looks very good for it’s price. It’s got the ‘full view’ as well with minimal bezels on both sides and the thinner head and bottom compared to the previous version.
The camera surprised me as it could take very good low light photos! There were no noise and images were clean and sharp. Again, I wish you can see what I saw but you really should trust me on this. Haha!
Oh by the way, the placement of the back camera resembles the iPhone X a lot.
So speaking of the iPhone X, here’s a side by side look of the Mi A2 with the iPhone X… just for the fun.
See how thin it is? Only 7.3mm. That’s really thin for a device that is less than RM1000.
The 20MP front selfie camera impressed me as well. The AI beauty does work in assisting to make your selfies look better. There are different level of beauty mode for you to pick and from my testing, putting it at level 1 is the best.
Oh in this photo above, you can see how wide the front camera is compared to the Galaxy Note 8 and the iPhone X.
To those interested, you can check the Mi A2 out at Mi Stores and also Lazada.
